Working mandarin collars and cheongsam shapes into current cuts such as body-con and fit and flare, the collection also incorporates catwalk trends such as jacquard materials, lace and oversized oriental bloom prints.
A strong palette of auspicious reds and pinks in tones ranging from bright rose to darker wines are mixed in with fashion’s latest hues - electric blue, white and coral keeping the overall feel fresh and modern.
Avni Pundir, Head of Private Label, ZALORA said of the collection, “We wanted to create a collection of pieces that could be mixed and matched together cohesively for the entire festive period. Traditional Chinese wear is so effortlessly glamorous and stylish, and contours a woman’s body so perfectly. So, we took cues from the most beautiful aspects of a cheongsam for example, and reworked it to appear modern, yet still distinctly Chinese.”

Having lived in Melbourne, I was, and continue to be inspired by how well Melbournian men are dressed – be it street style or dapper eveningwear.
I am proud to say I have no fashion regrets because I only wear the things I really like.
This year, I’ll be wearing more coloured chino shorts. Shorts that add a pop of colour not only look great, but also keep you cool in the perpetual summer that is Singapore!
The trend I loved in 2013 was 'boots with suits‘. The look is the ultimate combination of style and class, and a real classic look.
I regret wearing flip flops with jeans too often and will (try to) stay away from this look this year. Yes, it’s comfortable, but it is also lazy, shabby and mismatched at times!
This year, I will try to wear more colours. I plan to replace the jeans and flip flops combo with shorts and loafers.
The look I loved in 2013 was ‘The Great Gatsby’ Look. Nothing brought a soaring economy and great style into a larger party than a flashback of the roaring twenties!
I regret wearing sweat pants and plain t-shirts and will not wear them this year. Remember, you are what you wear.
In 2014, I will try to wear a bright bow tie as often as I can.
The trend I loved in 2013 was bright casual loafers because of how they make a serious outfit stand out.
I regret wearing too many plain, dark polo shirts last year, and will try to not wear them so much this year, especially as so many cool prints are on trend this season.
As I normally stick to quite simple, classic shirts, this year, I am going to find a way to wear floral prints!
