For those nights out you know you’ll never forget, you need a fragrance that ensures you’ll never go unnoticed. The new 212 VIP Black Elixir is a statement of confidence, pride, and unique individuality. A concentrated and mysterious perfume that celebrates the art of leaving a lasting impression, 212 VIP Black Elixir is a tribute to Carolina Herrera’s most youthful, urban, and up-all- night collection of scents.
Think of this as the next chapter to 212 VIP Black, a cornerstone of the exciting, rebellious, and late night world of 212. “I have always imagined the 212 VIP Black man as a mysterious and seductive figure, someone who knows how to become the king of the party,” explains Carolina A. Herrera, creative director of Herrera Beauty. “We decided to call it Elixir because we’ve managed to enhance its intensity and concentration with new facets and ingredients. It’s not just about turning up the volume of the fragrance, but enriching it with nuances that make it more luxurious and enigmatic. Truly interesting and captivating men have many facets, some even contradictory, and this elixir brings them all together in the form of a perfume.” The key lies in the three main accords: black lavender, black licorice, and black vanilla. An olfactory adventure unafraid of originality and unexpected tones.
The exterior face of 212 VIP Black Elixir is as new as what’s within. And we’re not just talking about the elegant all-black bottle: Rauw Alejandro, is the new public face and ambassador of the fragrance, embodying contemporary masculinity with a strong personality. “Rauw is a music star and one of the creators of that Latin sound that’s transforming the rhythm of the planet. In the 212 VIP Black Elixir campaign, we wanted to reflect that force, that city energy, and that totally contemporary originality,” notes Carolina A. Herrera.
The Formula: Luminous Darkness

The formula of 212 VIP Black Elixir is best understood through music, its source of inspiration. A song can have many elements, but the foundation is key: the bass, those beats that set the rhythm and penetrate the body of the listener. The perfumers behind this new fragrance, Juliette Karagueuzoglou and Carlos Benaim, have composed a dance-floor hit with high-impact beats: an ambery, aromatic, and gourmand fragrance, starring black lavender from Provence, black licorice, and black vanilla.
The black lavender from Provence, which leads the top notes, can be perceived as soon as the bottle’s spray is pressed. It is more aromatic and elegant than conventional lavender, with greater staying power. That’s why it doesn’t feel classic but fiercely modern, especially when combined with the sparkling acidity of grapefruit and the bitterness of juniper.
From there, the fragrance evolves towards heart notes featuring a star guest. Black licorice is a difficult accord to handle in perfumery. When used masterfully, the result is a distinctive, unmistakable note, like a familiar sample that allows you to recognize a song within seconds. Alongside it, orange blossom, full of romance, and a saffron accord with spicy accents, enhance its magic.
The base notes, the ones that linger longest on the skin, are pure seduction: a wonderful black vanilla accord, providing a gourmand touch without being overly sweet, oakwood, and vetiver. It’s like an unexpected, sensual twist on the codes of classic masculinity.
The Bottle: A Mysterious Totem

It’s hard to further perfect the 212 VIP Black bottle, with its rectangular shape, rounded corners, and polished surface. It’s no wonder it’s one of the most recognizable and iconic bottles in recent perfumery. 212 VIP Black Elixir refines its surfaces even more, opting for a “total black” look, just like the dress code of a wild and exclusive party. The typography has practically disappeared from its surface, concentrated on a metallic band where the cap begins. Monochromatic, futuristic, elegant, and radically modern. A perfect bottle for a perfume designed for a man who wants to leave a mark without revealing all his cards at once.
