Every time we think that the trend is going to die, it always comes back with a new twist. Was it James Dean’s old Hollywood glam or is it Beckham’s fashion forward contemporary reinvention of this hairstyle? Whoever you owe your brushed up hairstyle to, do it right with quality grooming products. We’ve gathered 5 ways to nail the modern quiff for your next attempt to achieving that perfectly coiffed hairdo:
1. Matte pomade for the classic quiff
For guys who want to keep it minimal yet still worth a glance from the ladies, the classic quiff should do the trick. For the cut, remind your hairstylist to keep a reasonable amount of length at the sides and the top section to be much longer. Once you have got the cut right, be mindful of using the right product to style it further. You want to have your hair neatly slicked back but yet natural so opt for matte pomade. This will give your quiff a strong hold and no shine.
2. Hair mousse for the messy quiff
The messy quiff is probably the hardest to achieve. The key to this hairstyle is to show off motion and an abundance of effortless soft waves. If you have natural curls or waves, this is your go to hairstyle to get your gravity defying hair into a well put together brush up style. For the cut, remind your hairstylist to keep the length long cos you need the volume to work with. For the product, opt for a mousse or lotion as opposed to a gel to keep the strands separated and achieve greater volume.

The side quiff is all about extreme edges put in one style. Remind your stylist to keep the sides with an aggressive gradient, mid-section with medium length and the front layer to be the longest. Products you should be using are quick sand for the height and some wet pomade for the slick look.
