If you have ever dropped your compact powder and opened it to find it completely shattered, then you know just how traumatizing that can be.
It may feel like your entire world is shattered (quite like the powder), but fear not! There is a way to fix it. This is a step-by-step guide to fix broken powder products and press it back together. The good news is that it’s simple enough to do on your own, and it requires only a few materials, all of which you can find at home. 🙂 This works for any kind of pressed powder product — blushes, bronzers, and even eyeshadows.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1. your broken powder product in its original container
2. rubbing alcohol
3. resealable plastic zipper bag
4. disposable butter knife
5. metal spoon
6. tissue paper

STEP 1: Pour all the powder contents into the resealable plastic zipper bag, including the pieces which are not broken
STEP 2: Zip up the bag and pulverize the contents further
Use the metal spoon to crush up the contents until they’re completely pulverized.
STEP 3: Pour the pulverized powder contents back into its original container
STEP 4: Mix in some rubbing alcohol to make a paste
For this size powder compact (7.6g), I use about a teaspoon or so. How much alcohol you need depends really on how much product you’re working with. Start out with a very small amount, then add a little more as you go along. It’s always easier to add than to take away. After adding the alcohol, stir up the mixture with your disposable butter knife to make a paste.
STEP 5: Using the disposable butter knife, make an even layer of the paste in the container
STEP 6: Fold up a sheet of tissue and lay it on top of the powder overnight.
Weigh down the tissue with some coins (or anything with a flat surface) and leave it to dry overnight. By morning, your powder will be good as new and ready for use with no change in color or texture.
