Our Top Picks Of Bra-less Outfits That Work At Work

Most women think wearing a bra is “unprofessional”. You don’t just go showing off your twins to everyone in the office, am I right?

But gurl, lemme tell you something.

While you do have to subscribe to certain rules regarding what you can and cannot wear in the office, the fact of the matter is there is no rule against not wearing bras to work. Wearing one is — was —just a way of conforming to society’s norms. It was done for social acceptance. But we all know better now. 😉

That’s why here at THREAD, we’re giving you six bra-less outfit ideas that can work at work. Sit back, relax, and read up, ladies! Go be that #GirlBoss you’re meant to be.

1) Wear a Bralette

Bella, Kourtney, and Kendall… what do these three have in common?

They can rock a three-piece bralette pantsuit that looks sexy, chic, and professional ALL. AT THE SAME. TIME.

Putting this here — and on #1! — because bralettes are, technically, not real bras (with bras having wires for extra shape and support). You can wear them as replacements for real bras, or wear them alone.

To successfully wear bralettes at work, pair them with pantsuits. Like the three celebrities/models mentioned above, you can opt to wear them all in one color… or not! See Nicole Warne below:

Just make sure to close those buttons up when you’re at work. Trust me, no one will know.

2) Bodysuit

Similar to bralettes, bodysuits can be worn alone or as supplement to a bra. They can come in short sleeves, long sleeves, turtlenecks, and etc.

To make body suits more work-appropriate, wear one that’s tight. Like, REAL tight and body-hugging as this could give you and your girls more support. And that way, you not wearing a bra won’t be too obvious.

And if it’s a sleeveless/backless piece, don’t forget to cover up with a cute jacket or blazer! Here are some blazers you might wanna check out:

The thing with bralettes and body suits are they’re sort of like a bra, but more comfortable to wear. Like, they’re bras… but not bras. They don’t make you feel completely naked, is what I mean.

But what if you were to wear something a little more loose?

3) Dark tops

Wear dark tops — red, olive green, black, as long as it’s not light! — for a bra-less day at work. Unless you have a dress code, you can wear just camisoles, but if you do, make sure you throw a cardigan or a blazer on top!

4) Sweater

If it isn’t dark or thick enough, you can wear a loose fitting tank top or camisole underneath your sweater. Or, again, put on a blazer or scarf for an added effect!

5) Structured tops

Take prying eyes away from your breasts, to the shape of your top.

6) Structured dresses

Take inspiration from Jessica Pearson.

You can go bra-less with structured dresses. Like structured tops, the dress itself serves as a distraction, and is a statement of its own. Because of their thick material and sophisticated design, you wouldn’t really need a bra for more support and shape.

And that’s how you rock a bra-less outfit to work.

Just a little pro-tip: If you wanna go bra-less but have slight reservations, remember that you can always a) layer & b) wear nipple tape. 😉
