brightest of them all
Chie Filomeno lights up ZALORA’s holiday cover in head-to-toe PUMA.

Confidence dictates the rhythm of Chie Filomeno. From the local celebrity landscape down to her reign on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, the young star seems to captivate in all environments with a supernova presence. It’s Chie’s moment, and we’re all just living in it. Sit back and relax as we bask in her ‘cool girl’ brilliance – a star so bright it’s impossible to ignore.

it girl

Heads turn when she enters rooms – that’s the type of power Chie possesses, much like her international counterparts, PUMA ladies Dua Lipa, Winnie Harlow, and Dixie Jane D'Amelio. Whether we’re talking about her bold style or the sheer confidence the actress radiates, one thing’s clear – she has all the makings of an ‘It Girl’. “When it comes to style, I don’t copy. I get inspiration and then infuse my own touch into it. That way, it’s still authentically me.” Spoken like a true trendsetter, Chie has always moved to the beat of her own drum – in style, dance, and life in general. “I’d describe my style to be classy, timeless, and fearless. It’s a product of trial and error – of getting to know what works for me, and what doesn’t.” Fashion to the young star has always been experimental, a playing field of self expression and an avenue to restructure her ever-changing persona.

“Because I’m always on the move, I pretty much live in activewear that I can style day in and day out.”

In her fast-paced lifestyle where passions like dancing seem to bleed into her rigorous work schedule, comfort is Chie’s number one priority when it comes to dressing. “I’m always on the go, and my style reflects that. Normally, you’d see me in a white top and loose bottoms styled with a nice pair of sneakers like the ones I got to wear on this PUMA shoot!” Rocking the brand’s bestsellers, Chie pulls off the off-duty-model aesthetic with such ease. “Because I’m always on the move, I pretty much live in activewear that I can style day in and day out.” Live fast, move fast. The star’s mentality ties in with PUMA's ForeverFaster mantra. Always aiming to push the envelope, PUMA serves quality activewear that’s able to keep up with the fast paced lifestyle of ‘It Girls’ like Chie.

Somewhere in between her journey of carving out a name in the industry and building an online empire with millions of followers, a superstar was born. It seems fitting as the actress comes from a family of performers. “My parents were both performers in Japan so I get that confidence and creative spirit from them.” Her first love? Dance. The star was already drawn to this craft at an early age. “We didn’t have money for me to pursue my dream of taking up Ballet, so I’d just practice in my room while watching music videos of performers like Beyonce.” Working her way through the industry, Chie managed to burst onto the scene with her undeniable star quality – something that’s just ingrained in people destined to take up the stage.

“Learning to love your body starts with you, that confidence shouldn’t depend on anything external.”

Labeled by most as their #BodyGoal, Chie puts in the work in maintaining her figure. But her relationship with fitness is built more on the goal of staying healthy rather than the pressure of looking good. “My main workout is dance, which is already a big chunk of what I do for work. When I have the time, I hit the gym 2-3 times a week so I can stay strong as a performer.” A huge advocate for body positivity, Chie wishes to remind young women that love and validation comes from within. “Learning to love your body starts with you, that confidence shouldn’t depend on anything external.” Chie is her generation’s ultimate ‘fitness goal’ not for how she looks, but for how she motivates women to embrace their bodies and the power in its potential.

her brightest season

‘Tis the season to celebrate all of the year’s wins. After a year spent climbing her own personal mountains, the actress sees the holidays as a way to relax and celebrate with the people she loves most. “Our family is very simple, we celebrate Christmas through a home-cooked meal and good conversation. That’s all we really need to be happy. As long as we’re complete and we have each other, I already see that as a huge Christmas blessing.” When asked what presents she plans to give her family members, she shares that she would gladly add Puma items to her ZALORA Christmas cart. “Honestly, they’d love these PUMA pieces. The quality is amazing, and I find them so easy to style.”

“Care less, but care enough to get by.”

Chie closes the sit-down interview with her life motto. “Care less, but care enough to get by.” The actress stays focused on her goals by drowning out the noise of external pressures and unsolicited opinions. She’s got her sights set on one thing – working hard to achieve the dreams of that little girl who started performing in her bedroom. From watching music videos, to now staring on her own, Chie has come a long way in her journey towards superstardom. A girl on the rise, living fast, and not stopping anytime soon – Chie Filomeno shows us she really is the brightest of them all.
