a lasting impact
From sustainability to slow living, Nadine Lustre talks building a lifestyle made to last — fully decked out in COS staples, now available on ZALORA.

A reintroduction is in order. Over the past decade, we’ve watched Nadine Lustre rise to become one of the most well-known stars of her generation. Her storied body of work has won her a place in the pantheon of industry greats. But after living in high-speed under the spotlight for so long, she’s settling into a new chapter. The actress and singer is now hitting pause, living slow, and shifting focus towards a lifestyle made to last. She’s well on her way – but Nadine is in no rush. After all, leaving a lasting impact doesn’t happen overnight.

The more Nadine matures, the better she understands her style. She’s come to embrace a simpler aesthetic — evident in her love for comfort-dressing. “I’d describe my style as being clean, comfortable, and a work in progress.” Like everything else about her, Nadine knows her style is still evolving. For the actress, it’s all part of the journey in getting to know herself. The spaces around her also play a great influence on the way she dresses. Island-living has brought out a practicality and calm to the artist’s preference for clothing. “After spending more time away from Manila, I can definitely say that my fashion is now becoming more simple.” These days, you’ll normally see the actress sport a clean shirt, a tank top, and a good pair of jeans. The ‘Nadine’ we’ve come to know is all grown up, and beginning to settle into a mature signature look – subtle, yet effortlessly elegant.

“I’m slowly becoming more conscious about the things that I purchase and brands that I shop.”

“I’m slowly becoming more conscious about the things that I purchase and brands that I shop.” Quality and sustainability have become top priorities in dressing for Nadine—the very same values that define COS. The brand reimagines timeless pieces for a modern capsule wardrobe with each article of clothing crafted with intention, made to last seasons and withstand trends. Taking pride in its sustainably-sourced and ethically-produced garments, the brand’s arrival on ZALORA makes its timeless selection accessible for the conscious collective like Nadine. Through the tap of a finger, online customers can now buy better quality items in which they may continuously breathe life into.

“I love having quality staple pieces that will last a long time. I put my clothes on rotation… putting some pieces in storage for me to wear again in the future or to hand down.”

Nadine believes that our part in sustainable fashion starts with mindfulness. Through investing in eco-conscious brands like COS or learning to overcome the fashion stigma about reusing clothes in the age of social media, we’re able to lessen our fashion carbon footprint. “I love having quality staple pieces that will last a long time. I put my clothes on rotation…putting some pieces in storage for me to wear again in the future or to hand down.” When asked what her favorite COS piece from the shoot was, Nadine showed love for the Tailored Blazer and Bralette. “I really liked the blazer because it’s a staple item that you can wear over and over again. And the bralette is a piece you can style in so many ways!” A fan of accessorizing, the actress would recommend women to invest in high-quality bags and nice earrings. When we commit ourselves to buying better, we’re rewarded with a wardrobe that’s in it for the long haul.

“I want people to feel loved when they listen to my music. It’s one way to get to know me better.”

Nadine Lustre is the alchemist of her own artistry. Her art is the sum of the people, places, and things that inspire her. Being fully immersed in nature, she gained a deep respect for its relationship with music. “I'm a big nature girl. Nature is a huge part of my aesthetic.” Her debut album, Wildest Dreams, is colored with sounds of beaches, mountain streams, and calming winds. Slow-living has inspired the artist’s sound to take on a new form — one that’s more raw and authentic to herself. “I can definitely say that a lot has changed in terms of my music. We’re still on the experimental stage and that makes everything exciting.” Nadine is in constant pursuit of finding her sound, and the creative process is a joy to ride for the singer. “I want people to feel loved when they listen to my music. It’s one way to get to know me better.” Generally a private person, Nadine allows the public an unskewed look into her life through her art.

Characterized by RnB electronic beats and an almost dream-like aesthetic, her artistry is a result of the creative collaboration from the minds over at music label Careless. The liberated female form comes alive in Nadine’s visuals, further cementing her status as one of the most empowered female figures in Philippine music. Inspired by western artists like Lady Gaga, Bjork, and Jhene Aiko, Nadine is part of the new wave of Filipino musicians reinventing OPM. When asked for the one advice she’d give to new artists, Nadine stressed on the importance of identity and authenticity. “Always be true to yourself. Pay no mind to what other people think or say about you. Be authentic.”

Now settling into a chapter where she’s in full control, the young star has gained a deeper understanding of what she really wants out of life. Over the past year, she’s been taking on passion projects for the environment. Nadine has also been very vocal in politics and uses her platform to bring attention to causes close to her heart. A true force of nature, the star’s active participation in her community has made her a prominent fixture in this generation’s list of movers and shakers, inspiring her over 10 million followers to find their voice in the same way she found hers.

Just like her recently released single, Own It, Nadine Lustre is taking full control of her narrative. A new year, a new sound, and a new opportunity to create lasting change - only time can tell what Nadine will be up to next. “To be honest, I’m not really good with keeping resolutions, so I'll just go with the flow.”

In looking towards the future – one thing’s for sure, Nadine Lustre is creating a name with a lasting impact. And she’s only getting started.
