It is made with the RE49 patented process using the nylon fabric of the spinnaker sail: the thin and resistant balloon sail of the boats. The wrinkled effect is the feature that makes this shoe unique and inimitable. You will feel like you are wearing a leather ankle boot, but instead it is an entirely Vegan Approved Boot. The insole and the inner lining are made of soft, super comfortable, recycled microfiber or cotton terry towels, recovered from hotels. The sole is made of recycled tyres. and gives our stage boots a contemporary and original look. All RE49 shoes are hand-made in Italy, in our atelier in Gonars, in the province of Udine.Back in 1949 Valentino Masolini started to recycle fabric scraps and abandoned military uniforms to make shoes. In 2021, his great-grandson, Nicola Masolini, reuses fabrics, beach umbrellas, beach deckchairs and sails to create shoes. This is how, in a small village of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, RE49 was born : the most sustainable shoe brand in the world, producing unique Made in Italy products, according to the circular economy model.<i>"In our atelier, the art and experience in shoe making are being passed on for four generations.
