…without being a hot mess.

Let’s be honest, we’ve always wanted to wear long-sleeved turtlenecks and big jackets — I do sometimes, actually most of the times — but then we live in the Philippines where it is summer all-year round.
But with the right play on fabrics and layering, you can actually get away with layering your clothes in this heat. It’s all about choosing the right light fabrics to pile on to avoid feeling like a hot mess under all those layers.
1. Get a Shacket
This is one of the most basic ways to layer clothes during the heat. A shacket is normally an outerwear that’s in between a shirt and a jacket — it’s too substantial to be a shirt, but too light to be a jacket. It comes in various styles such as oversized polos or army and denim shirt jackets that you can quickly wear over a shirt or any top. Throwing on a shacket will easily amplify your outfit while the heat is on.

2. Camp Collar Shirts
These are defined by their flat-open collar, short-sleeved button down shirts you can easily wear over a plain shirt. It’s ideal to wear on for hot days too — thanks to its loose, casual fit perfect for lounging comfortably. These overshirts will give you 50s styled layering.

3. Oversized Vests
Believe or not, vests are slowly coming back. Usually worn with a three-piece suit, today’s generation is giving it another try by mixing and matching it streetwear style.
No matter what the season is, you have all the freedom to wear whatever makes you feel your best self. Want to wear puffy jackets all year? If it makes you feel good about yourself, why not?
