WHO OWNS KEDS?

Keds was first founded in 1916 by U.S Rubber and was popularized by being the first mass-marketed canvas-top sneaker. The brand was later sold to Stride Rite in 1979, then acquired by Wolverine World Wide in 2012.

In December 2022, Wolverine World Wide announced plans to divest the brand. Completing its plan to shed one of its subsidiary brands, Wolverine World Wide then sold Keds to Designer Brands, owner of footwear retailer Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW).
