Check its Serial Number: All modern Seiko watches have their manufactured date, which contains 6 digit Serial number, engraved on the watch. Exceptions are pre-1970 models where the numbers were 7 digits long and limited edition models may have a number reflecting its piece number. For example, 90/200 may indicate it's the 90th of 200 pieces.

Check its movement & model number:  The Seiko movement and model number can be found on the caseback in two sets of 4 digits joined by a dash. The first 4 are the movement calibre number while the second 4 are the case/model number.

Check its movement dial: Seiko watches feature the movement calibre and dial code printed at the bottom of the dial, which is near the 6 o'clock position.

Check its logo:  The Seiko logo should be embossed on the watch face (dial) on every Seiko watch. Do check if the size and shape of the letters extremely carefully for any slight variation.
