living the dream
Ultimate #MomGoals Solenn Heussaff talks motherhood, dreams, and co-founding sustainable babywear brand, Tili Dahli, as it makes its debut on ZALORA.
“Dreams only remain dreams if you don’t work for things and make it happen.”

It’s no secret that Solenn Heussaff is a woman who knows how to make things happen. Her latest business venture? A sustainable babywear brand co-founded with sister-in-law, Anne Curtis-Smith. Inspired by their first muses—their very own daughters, Thylane and Dahlia—Tili Dahli is a love letter from Solenn and Anne to all moms out there. This is a brand built to meet the needs of babies through thoughtful essentials that are fuss-free and kind to the earth. “We made sure to launch our brand with basic essentials that are easy to wear. We want a child to be able to play freely in our clothes and discover the world comfortably.”

They say motherhood changes you. For supermom Solenn, aside from awakening so much joy in her, it made her rediscover old dreams and live out new ones she never thought she had. “I’ve always wanted to own a babywear brand.” The pull to develop her own line never left Solenn but after having her firstborn Thylane, it resurfaced stronger than ever. “Dreams only remain dreams if you don’t work for things and make it happen.”

Working with her sister-in-law made the project that much more special for Solenn. ”Anne and I see eye to eye so the ideas flow easily. She is also very easy to work with and I am always surprised about how hands-on she is.” Collaboration came naturally to the duo as they’ve always exchanged ideas on baby garments and already knew what they were looking for. Both Solenn and Anne were very present in the whole process from choosing the fabrics, picking out colors, to attending weekly meetings. After the whole ordeal of launching their first passion project together, the two feel closer than ever and are already giddy about future collections!

The project definitely kept Solenn busy throughout the pandemic. “It made me dream again. It made me meet new people.” Just like any other great project, it took a village to bring Tili Dahli to life. With the help of Roxanne Farillas and their team of go-getter women, the group worked to not only launch a clothing line, but establish a community for mothers. From its collaborative design process to its inclusive manifesto, so much of the brand’s makeup centers on connection and the healthy exchange of support between women.

“The materials are not made with any harmful dyes. It’s good for the environment and good for the sensitive skin of babies.”
Tili Dahli Comes to Life

Adorable, organic and sustainably sourced. “The materials are not made with any harmful dyes. It’s good for the environment and good for the sensitive skin of babies.” According to Solenn, both herself and Anne were very keen on integrating organic materials into the line, knowing the benefits of this for both the environment and children alike. Tili Dahli is one of the few local brands with a GOTS Certification. This means that their fabric contains at least 95% organic materials and are produced in a manner that adheres to social and environmental standards. Unlike any other that has come before it, the brand is definitely setting a new benchmark for kids apparel in the local scene.

“Our goal is for our styles to be for everyone, but we also acknowledge that each child is different so they have a variety of fun colors to choose from.” When asked for her favorite piece in the collection, Solenn said she equally loves the Dreamsuits, Kawaii Kimonos, and Fairy Dresses. As for playful Tili, playtime with dad Nico is not complete without the Rugrat Playsuit. The designs factor in practicality with its playsuits being easy to button back in during quick diaper changes. The line has an assortment of long & short sleeve designs that consider both hot and cold seasons so babies can be comfortably cute any time of the year! Combine its comfy feel with trendy hues of lavenders, ocean blues, clays, and soft greens… and honestly, what’s not to love?

Solenn is definitely #MomGoals with how she’s taking on a modern definition of motherhood. Less of perfection, and more of authenticity. Her advice to moms out there is to simply 'BE YOU.’ “Every mom is different. Do what you think is right for your child. Just be real and be present.” This authenticity is what drives her passions and ventures in life.

With Tili Dahli, the goal is to create a line that moves & grows with its inspiration. Solenn envisions the brand to grow with Thylane and Dahlia. “That’s the big dream. By the time Thylane and Dahlia are teens, maybe we could have designs inspired by their personal styles. Or maybe even collections designed by them!” Two mothers’ dreams now take form in a brand seeking to help all mothers out there. Timeless, thoughtful, and true to its core — this is their way of giving back to what motherhood has gifted them.
